Preschool ~ Week 3

Joey is still having a great time in school. He can't wait for it to be Monday, Wednesday or Thursday. I don't know if my feelings should be hurt or not ;) I'm just glad that he is enjoying it.

Here's the week in review from his teachers....

This week we wrapped up our unit on “What is a Zoo?” with a behind the scenes tour of our Carnivore CafĂ© on Monday. The children were given a peek at how our kitchen workers get their jobs done safely and quickly. On Wednesday, we had a visit from our Heads of Safety and Security. The children learned how to stay safe at home and at the Zoo. They also were given the opportunity to sit in our ambulance cart and even beep the horn. We ended our week by visiting the Zoo’s library. Did you know we have a library at our Zoo? The librarian read the children a story and showed them where their teachers find all the books we read in our classroom each day. She was even kind enough to give all the children a bookmark and small Zoo book to keep. Finally, we took a quick peek inside our janitor’s closet to see where all the cleaning supplies (brooms, mops, buckets and towels, etc) are kept. We love our Zoo! ANIMAL VISITOR: We did not have an animal visitor in the afternoon. One of our beloved Zoo-Eds/volunteers passed away this week, and his funeral was this afternoon. All of our volunteers were at the funeral.
